NCCU currently has 9 colleges excelling in the College of Liberal Arts, Law, Commerce, Science, Foreign Languages and Literature, Social Sciences, Communication, International Affairs, and Education, which comprise 34 departments.

Located at the base of Chi-nan Mountain in Taipei, NCCU is one of the most prestigious universities in Taiwan .  In Taipei, Taiwan, students will have numerous temples, festivals, and even night markets at their disposal.

NCCU offers an array of coursework, but students in the arts and sciences and business fields will find courses best suited for their program. Students will generally take five courses and a list of coursework can be found here.

Student Life

In addition to academics, students will have opportunities to engage in numerous cultural activities that the city of Taipei has to offer.  From museums to temples, and many public parks and hot springs, there is always something to do in Taipei.  You may even have a chance to participate in the lantern festival, where thousands of lanterns are released into the night sky.  Definitely a sight to see!

Health and Safety

All students will travel abroad with GeoBlue international health insurance, which is purchased by the College. Students will receive an electronic and hard copy of their insurance card, and should a doctor's visit (commonly referred to as hospital visit abroad) be necessary, they should reach out to their on-site study abroad coordinator/resident director. Students will be required to contact GeoBlue prior to their appointment, unless of course in the case of an emergency, and should follow the procedures outlined here.

Students are also encouraged to register themselves in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), a free service provided by the U.S. government to U.S. citizens traveling abroad. STEP allows Americans abroad to receive updates from the nearest embassy or consulate and allows the Department of State to better assist you in an emergency.

Student Visas

All students studying abroad in Taiwan must obtain a student visa prior to traveling. The student visa application for Tawain can be found at the following here.
Processing Times
Visa processing times vary by country. Though some consulates are able to provide student visas in as little as two days, others may take as long as two months. We advise all students to review the timelines of their host country, and plan accordingly. Processing times can be found on the Taiwanese Consulate’s website.

The current cost to obtain a Taiwanese visa is $160. To ensure you are making the correct payment amount, and paying by the correct method (credit card, cash or money order), please visit the consulate website.
